Essex Counselling
1 in 10 people are affected by adoption and many have little or no opportunity to talk openly about their experience of and feelings on adoption issues.
Being part of an adoption triangle you'll be directly affected by some of the issues including attachment issues, contact concerns, identity issues, inter-generational conflicts, gender sexual attraction and post reunion issues.
These issues may cause you to feel in a turmoil, feel loss, rejection, confusion, frustration, disappointment, be depressed, feel split loyalty.
In the quiet, sensitive, non-judgemental space of person centred counselling you will have the freedom to talk openly about adoption, how it affects you; help clarify your thinking; explore your options and strategies concerning these issues brought about by adoption.
If you are an adoptor, adoptee or birth parent or in any way directly affected by adoption and live in East Anglia I would recommend you contact the post Adoption Link Scheme run by Barnardos. I have had training by and work for them as a post adoption counsellor. If you are eligible you can apply for a grant from this organisation to assist in payment for a course of counselling sessions.
If adoption is a significant but disturbing factor in your life there is help and someone to listen to you, so make contact today.
When you make contact I will be the only person you talk to. If I am not available to take your call please leave a message with your contact number and the best time to contact you. I am the only person to use this answering service.
If you prefer, you can email me brenda@essex-counselling-practice.co.uk or use the contact form. You can trust both the telephone and email system are handled with full confidentiality.
